Youths of All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ijare zone of Ifedore local government area of Ondo state have advised the Governor of the state, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu not to impose Engr Temitope Ajayi Favour on them as the Chairman of the newly created Ijare Local Council Development Area.
According to the youths, Ajayi is not a member of the party as he has no membership card of the party and has not in anyway contributed to the success of the party in the zone.
A youth leader from the area, Deji Akintayo spoke on behalf of the youths who gathered at the secretariat of the party in Ijare on Saturday.
According to, “We have been informed, although we regard it as a rumour that Temitope Ajayi, also known as Engineer Favour has been selected to be the next Chairman of Ijare LCDA. As much as we don’t want to believe this rumour, we will love to set the record straight.
“Temitope Ajayi is not a member of our party. He is neither a registered member nor a financial member. He has not taken part in any of the activities of the party at any point in time. Even during the last General election, he did not contribute to the victory of our party’s candidates.
“Sadly, he does not even have a voters card in Ifedore local government. We don’t know if he has a voters card at all.
“We plead with our talk and do Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu to help us ensure this type of evil does not befall our party in Ijare zone. We have qualified party members who have always worked for the progress of the party in the zone.
“These party members should be considered instead of non party members,” he concluded.
Other youth leaders of the party present include: Wale Makinde from Ijare ward 1; Tope Akeju from Ijare ward 2; Mr. Ogundowole Odunayo from Ekamefa Ward among others.
Some leaders of the party also revealed list of those who contributed financially to the party during the 2023 general election and insisted that Tope Favour’s name was not among the 63 chieftains in Ifedore local government who are on the list.
They said “those contributed are the financial members of APC in ifedore local government for the supporting all the candidates of APC during the last presidential, national and state assembly elections in ifedore local government.
“The financial members of APC in ifedore local government that contributed for the victory of President Tinubu, senator Adeniyi Adegbonmire and Hon Tope Komolafe of thehouse of assembly ifedore constituency, Engr Favour is not a financial member of APC in ifedore local government, even he didn’t even have a voters’ card, he is a stranger.”
