Impeachment Saga: Don’t turn Akure into a battlefield, Akure-born indigene, Adebayo tells Deji of Akure to call Idajo, NURTW to order over alleged plot to stage heavy protest in Akure

_”Deji of Akure and traditional rulers should rise up to this ugly situation of impeachment plot to avoid repeat of 1983 war that claimed many lives and properties of Akure people.”_

Just some hours to the alleged protest plot facilitated by Mr. Adebo Idajo, Chairman NURTW ondo state chapter, in Akure today, Wednesday, 4th October, 2023, an Akure-born indigene, Hon. Lanre Tony Adebayo, has called on Akure paramount ruler and Chairman Council of Traditional Rulers in Ondo State, HRM Oba, Aladetoyinbo Ogunlade Aladelusi, Odundun II, Deji of Akure, to call Idajo and NURTW members to order over alleged protest plot. He also warned political actors in the state to shun politics of bitterness and
embrace peace in order to consolidate on gains of democracy and the pursuit of peace and
development for the state.

Adebayo while speaking, noted that Akure indigenes have yet to recover fully from the damages caused by the political war of 1983. He then cautioned protesters not to turn Akure city into a battlefield, appealed to Deji of Akure and other traditional rulers to rise up to this ugly situation of impeachment plot of the Ondo State Deputy Governor to avoid repeat of 1983 war that claimed many lives and properties of Akure people knowing full well that Akure being the city of Ondo State will always be on the receiving end.

Adebayo cautioned the politicians over
attitude and actions geared towards creating mayhem and pandemonium in the state.

Adebayo made the appeal while speaking with Coastal Renaissance on a telephone call this morning. While speaking, he warned politicians to desist from violence while canvassing for peaceful coexistence among the citizenry.

Adebayo finally called on the families, brothers, sisters and friends of the Ondo State House of Assembly members to do needful by calling them to order to embrace peace for the best interest of the state.
