Make Sports more attractive to female youth —Olamide Falana hails Ondo Female Coaching training

The Special Adviser to the Ondo State Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu on Gender, Hon. (Mrs) Olamide Falana has advised female coaches to seek new techniques of making Sporting activities more attractive and exciting for young generation.

She gave the advice at the closing ceremony of a training for female football coaches organized by H and B Global Sports held in Akure, the State capital.

According to Falana, more of younger people are needed to key into sports, football in particular, as it is a money spinner across the world, adding that having more female coaches would encourage young girls into football.

She described football as a form of language, freedom and a tool on achieving a bridge in gender gap.

While commending Governor Akeredolu for always empowering women, Falana noted that “Ondo State is not lacking in support for women when it comes to gender issues, Ondo is one of the States that are leading in gender issues, the State ensures that women are given a sense of belonging, women are being encouraged in political leadership.”

She pointed that Ondo Started Government on its own part would provide the resources, capacity backing and environment to make sports thrive in the State.

The Special Adviser appreciated the organizer for bringing the training to Ondo State and impacting on women. She also congratulated the participants, urging them to go ahead and do better, they should also keep up the bond of sisterhood and strife higher, aspire for greater things.

The President, H and B Global Sports, Mr Henry Abiodun in his address, stated that 40 female football coaches across Nigeria were being trained on modern day football coaching.

Abiodun, who is a national training officer of Nigeria Coaches Football Association added that the training is as a way of giving back in the area of technical support to the female football coaches in Nigeria.

Ondo State Chairman Coaches Association, Mrs Tayo Onilude, in her address, commended the initiative.
