A former People’s Democratic Party, National Vice Chairman in the South West, Dr Olorogun Eddy Olafeso has charged Governorship aspirants’ Media Aides in Ondo State against brutal campaigns ahead of the 2024 election.
He said this while Speaking in a seminar for media Aides of Governorship Aspirants in Ondo State.
Olorogun emphasized that the PDP would reclaim Ondo State in the forthcoming election with unity of purpose among gladiators within the party, cautioning the media Aides to shun politics of abuses and destructive campaigns.
He added that destroying opponents of their principals on social media should not be tolerated by media Aides.
He urged them to campaign with dignity, “What we know about PDP today is what the people had put out there, we have been brutalized, insulted numerous times because we are contesting.
“We should have a re-focus of things, you people have been doing things that are diminishing our party, we should campaign with dignity, Karma is real whatever you do today would catch up with you tomorrow, We should not be an enemy to each other because of position.
“PDP is moving, We are setting a tone for refined party, But our write ups and words of mouth had destroyed some aspirants, We do not have to be brutal, tomorrow would come faster than we can imagine,” Olafeso said.
While responding if PDP would take over the power in the state, Olafeso said the party in no time would come back through the support of the people and unity among leaders.
“No matter the challenges we are facing presently, we are very confident that we would be better, PDP would take back power and as we have always do in the past to give back to the people we would continue, we would return.
“We have started internal process of communicating to ourselves in other to get back on track, once we understand ourselves because we need one another, if we are not united we would be in mess, we are sure that the future is bright, we are very resolute, Nigeria is not getting it, there is poverty in the land, there is insecurity, what else can we hope for but the support of the people so that we would get back to power”.
Corroborating his words, “We are here to advise the people especially the Aides of the aspirants that abuse is not democracy, democracy is a form of government by civilized minds, educated people who understands the meaning of forgiveness, who understands the meaning of leaning and service to the people, developing the land much more than we had met it, the participants would have more knowledge through this interaction that we do not have to fight one another”.
The seminar was attended by the Acting Chairman of the party, Tola Alabere and some state PDP officers.
