A political group within the All Progressives Congress, APC, known as G30 on Friday rolled out strategies of supporting the Ondo State Governor, Hon. Lucky Aiyedatiwa to win the forthcoming Saturday’s April 20 governorship primaries.

The group noted that Aiyedatiwa has what it takes to create very sharp impact for the good people of Ondo State within four years of his administration.

The group G30 who are young entrepreneurs and professionals who are 30yr-old and above, at a World Press Conference held at Oba-Ile, in Akure North Local Government Area of the state, said Aiyedatiwa with four years in charge he would transform Ondo state, saying they believe he will create very sharp impacts for the people within four years.

The Convener of the group, Dr Tola Awosika who was flanked by a former member of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Adefisoye; a Women Mobiliser, Dr Seun Bosede Osamaye and other members, said the group had carefully evaluated the capacity of governor Aiyedatiwa in the last few months at the saddle of power and should be allowed to consolidate on it.

Awosika said: “I think we should be more worried about tomorrow, what happens to our state not what happens in a year, two, three or four years.

“I’m sure you know that at the time the Northern senatorial district was clamouring for their own turn, they also wanted eight years but unfortunately God is the one that decide tomorrow and our late governor was only able to achieve seven years, but in those seven years he did his own part.

“He impacted his people and the people are very pleased with the Legacy that he left for them as far as Ondo North is concerned. So I don’t see that being an issue for him. I think it’s not how long you spend it is what you do when you’re giving the opportunity.

“So, whether it’s two or four years, I believe he has what it takes to create very sharp impact for the good people of Ondo State.”

Speaking on the influence of the President ahead of the primary, Awosika said, “We all know the anticidents of president Tinubu, we saw it in his own struggle for the presidential primary ticket.

“He’s a Democrat through and through and someone that believes in the process and someone that believes in elections. He fought very hard for his own nomination as a candidate of APC during the 2023 presidential election, and I believe he’s throwing out the same path, he want the aspirants to also fight for what they believe in and I believe he’s good to support with very transparent and Democratic process.

The group promised to mobilise the people to ensure that Aiyedatiwa is elected as the candidate of the party and subsequently as state governor on November 16.

Awosika said, “G30 Group , has carefully assessed Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa’s performance and tract record as a deputy governor, acting governor and now Governor of Ondo state. The last 100days of mr Governors administration has shown his commitment to improving the lives of the good people of Ondo State through is commitment to good governance, rapid response to infrastructure deficit and human capital development. The impact is huge across the sectors of the states and in the lives of its people.

“Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa has shown exceptional leadership qualities and a dedication to serving the people of Ondo State with integrity and transparency. He has demonstrated his ability to bring about positive change and progress in the state, and we believe that he is the best candidate to lead Ondo State to greater heights in the next four years.

“We urge all members of the APC and the people of Ondo State to rally behind Governor Aiyedatiwa as he seeks re-election as the candidate of our party. Together, we can build a stronger, more prosperous, and more united Ondo State.

“I will like to end my statement with a famous quote “A man trusted with little and performs can be trusted with much. Mr Governor has earned our trust as citizens of ondo state so we can trust him with our future for the next 4 years,” Awosika said.
