The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps has arrested a 40yr-old father, Mr Abraham Achibong who is a farmer in Akure, the Ondo State Capital was for allegedly molesting his own daughter who is 14years old since she was 8 year-old.
According to information gathered by SUNSHINETRUTH News, the unholy act has been going on for the past 6years until recently when the girl (name withheld) summoned courage to confide in her teacher.
It was further learnt that the girl narrated her ordeal when officials of the Ondo State Primary Health Care Development Agency visited her school on a sensitization programme on Human Papilloma Virus vaccine.
The ugly development was said to have caused confusion among residents and at the school premises.
Confirming the arrest of the suspect on 22nd May, 2024, the State Commandant of the NSCDC, Mr Ibiloye Oluyemi, said “Case of Incest/Defilement and Molestation: Mr Abraham Achibong age 40 years , a farmer was arrested for molesting his own daughter who is 14years old since she was 8 years.
“This has been going on for 6 years until few days ago when the girl (name withheld) summoned courage to confide in her teacher when the Ondo State Primary Health Care Development Agency officers visit her school on a sensitization programme on Human Papilloma Virus vaccine.”
He said the father would be charged to court for crime of rape.
“The suspect has since confessed to the crime, and he would be prosecuted in the law court for his crime of rape, molestation and incest,” the Commandant said.
