It was a gathering of prominent Islamic leaders, traditional rulers, and eminent sons and daughters of Ondo state at the 10th memorial anniversary of a foremost Ikare-Akoko born industrialist, Alhaji Lasisi Musa-Terere.
The event which was held on Saturday 15th June, 2024, commenced with a special prayer, led by the chief imam of Ikare Akoko, Alhaji Abbas Abubakar, at the popular Terere’s compound in Okegbe-Ikare.
Alhaji Abubakar described the late Alhaji Musa-Terere as a devout Muslim who lived a life of sacrifice and benevolence, especially to his hometown and immediate community urging the children to protect the legacies left behind by their father.
Alhaji Abubakar while praising the Terere’s family for remembering their patriarch after ten years of his passing advised fathers to set their children on the right footing in life so they could always take the name of the family far.
Speaking at the occasion, the traditional ruler of the community, the Owa-Ale, HRM Oba Adeleke Adegbite-Adedoyin II, urged the children of Alhaji Musa-Terere to continue to cherish the memory of their patriarch whom he described as a worthy father while alive.
Oba Adegbite-Adedoyin noted with nostalgia how the late Terere established all his businesses in ikare-Akoko to develop the ancient town and also empower residents.
The monarch while saying the late industrialist was an epitome of humility advised the children to continue to make their father proud in death.

Some family members including Mr Mukaila Musa and Mrs Taibat Alonge spoke glowingly about the late industrialist.
Guests were later entertained at an elaborate party held at the St Jude primary school field, Ikare-Akoko.
Alhaji Lasisi Musa-Terere, a foremost industrialist and owner of the famous Terere Cinema, Ikare died in 2014 at the age of Sixty-nine years.
He is survived by wives, children and grandchildren among whom is Mrs Oluwatosin Yesirat Aderibigbe of Radio Nigeria Positive FM Akure.
