……Akogun of Okaland, Omole seeks more time for Tinubu’s Govt

As the August 1 planned nationwide protest is being supported and objected by different opinion leaders, the Olubaka of Oka Akoko in Ondo State, Oba (Dr) Yusuf Adebori Adeleye, OON, on Tuesday 30th July, 2024, engaged key stakeholders in his domain on the need to shun the action in the interest of peace and development.

The First Class Monarch at the meeting held with the Representatives of the Youths, Students, leadership of NURTW and Okada Riders Association as well as traders among others.

Oba Adeleye enjoined his subjects to reject the protest and should not take part in any protest in the area, even as the Town is preparing for its Annual New Yam Day tagged Okarufe Cultural Festival, which slated for Saturday August 3, 2024.

The Royal father further stated that Oka is happy with the Governor of Ondo State, Hon Aiyedatiwa for the recent approval of the asphalt overlaying on the Ayegunle/ Iwaro Oka Road.

The Meeting was attended by the Akogun of Okaland, Hon. Olugbenga Omole, who is also the Special Adviser to the Ondo State Governor on Transportation.

Akogun Omole told newsmen that he attended the meeting in his capacity as a Chief in the town, urging the residents of Oka to continue to patient with President Bola Tinubu on his administration’s economic reforms and they should sustain their support for Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa.

Omole stated that the present administration in Ondo State Under the Leadership of Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa has many life enriching programs as 5,000 jobs will be created for youths through Ondo State Entrepreneur Agency.

Omole enjoined the youths to take advantage of such job opportunities. He said “Are we going to protest a Federal Government that just approved the dualisation of Ilesha-Akure-Benin Highway?

“We should give the Federal Government under the Leadership of our President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu more time as he means well for Nigerians,” Omole said.

The President of Oka Youth Forum, Olabode Adeniyi gave Kudos to the Kabiyesi for calling the stakeholders’ meeting at this critical time.

Adeniyi also commended Akogun Omole for always standing up for Okaland at all times and prays that God will continue to guide and protect him as the Youth of Oka are Proud of him.

Dare Daomi who is the NURTW Chairman Akoko South West, stated that his Union will not partake in any protest and that they are ready to collaborate with law enforcement agents to make sure peace reigns in Okaland.

Abayomi Ware, the Chairman of Okada Riders distanced his group from any proposed protest.

Other groups leadership promised to shun the planned protest as directed by the monarch.
