The traditional ruler, Zaki of Arigidi Akoko, Oba Yisa Olanipekun said the people of the town has insisted that the founder of the Synagogue Church of all Nation (SCOAN), Prophet T.B. Joshua to be buried in the community.
Joshua was a native of the town which is located in Akoko Northeast council area of Ondo state.
The monarch in an interview with newsmen in Arigidi on Sunday evening at his palace, said the wish of the people is that the late televangelist be buried in the town.The monarch noted that notable clergymen in the country, most especially St Moses Orimolade was buried in his hometown, Ikare-Akoko, Ondo state.
He said burying him in the town will ensure his legacy remains permanently in Arigidi Akoko.
The monarch said the late clergyman would be remembered for his philanthropic lifestyle which touched every nook and cranny of Akoko land.
He expressed regrets that the global televangelist could not complete a school project he had always discussed with him.
Oba Olanipekun added that TB Joshua was more interested in bringing people out of poverty.
“He would bring rice to the people whenever we requested. He hated to see people go hungry. He was instrumental to the electrification of many communities in Akoko land after years of darkness,” the monarch said.
TB Joshua died on Saturday at the age of 57, just few days to his 58th birthday.
