Why hunger Protesters should dialogue with Govt —Ondo APC Chairman Adetimehin

Protest: We can always resolve issues with dialogue

Rebuilding economy, usually comes with it’s concomitant pains. Nigeria is currently passing through such a phase, that would be shortlived.

It is my sincere appeal, therefore to Nigerians to exercise restraints over planned protest, and embrace dialogue.

In our part of the world, peaceful protest, that is a fundamental right, is mostly hijacked by agents that are not acquainted with the demands of the organizers, to unleash more pains on law-abiding citizens, by looting and destructing of property with crude recklessness.

History recalls that nations which disagree violently and declare wars, still come back to the round table for peaceful resolution of issues.

It is on this note I want to passionately appeal that the organizers set up a team that would interface with the Federal Government, and look into their demands, for plausible resolutions.

Any protest that is infiltrated will lead to destruction of lives and property, and can set us decades back, in terms of infrastructures and national healing.

The current cost of living, notwithstanding, the All Progressives Congress led federal government has made some notable progress in laying solid foundation for the nation’s economic rebirth. We need to exercise patience and show more understanding to reap the gains.

I wish to appreciate all members of the party, and indeed the residents of the Sunshine State for their understanding of the situation. I assure you that the government will continue to prioritize welfare of our people, and development

May God prosper Nigeria!
