2024 Int’l Youth Day: Ondo govt approves students participation in summer bootcamp prog

2024 INTERNATIONAL YOUTH DAY CELEBRATION

Ondo state government has approved the participation of selected senior secondary students, between ages 10-18, in the second phase of the Build-A-thon summer bootcamp programme.

The programme,which is an innovative initiative is designed to engage young minds in the field of technology,fostering creativity,problem-solving skills and entrepreneurship.

The Build-A-thon is facilitated by the Federal Ministry of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy while the State Information Technology Agency (SITA) will partner with the federal ministry to ensure a smooth hosting of the programme,and participation of Ondo state secondary school students sponsored by the State Government.

The students will be engaged in Coding, embedded systems and physical computing in a fun and engaging environment. The programme will hold at the Public Service Training Institute(PSTI) ilara-mokin from August 19-30th.

In his reaction,the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on ICT;Hon Tomide Akinribido,commended Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa for the approval for Ondo state students to participate in the lofty programme.

The SITA boss highlighted that the approval of the Governor on the day commemorating International Youth Day with the theme “From Clicks to Progress- Youth Digital Pathways for Sustainable Development” was indeed laudable,while noting that the programme would enhance digital literacy among the students.
