Encomium, Gov. Aiyedatiwa, Eminent Nigerans pay tribute, as Alayede of Ayede Ogbese, late Oba Ajibola Oluyede laid to rest

The Governor of Ondo State, Hon. Lucky Aiyedatiwa and other prominent Nigerians have paid tribute and Celebrated the exemplary leadership quality of HRM Alaiyeluwa Oba Ajibola Olaleye Oluyede, Ise Oluwa II, the Alayede of Ayede Ogbese, who recently joined his ancestors.

The Governor alongside his entourage, has visited the Royal Ranch in Ayede Ogbese to bid farewell to the late foremost monarch and condoled the monarch’s Queen, HRH Olori Olufunmilayo Nejo-Oluyede.

This is just as the grand finale reception of late Oba Ajibola Oluyede was held in Ayede Ogbese, Akure North local government area of Ondo State, Nigeria as the monarch’s children, Dr. Olufunto Oluyede-Campbell and Prince Adetunmbi Oluyede accompanied by family members, friends, colleagues, and associates, celebrated the glorious passage of their late father in a grandstyle.

The monarch was interred privately on Monday night, 12th August, 2024 at the Royal Mausoleum in Ayede Ogbese, after which his daughter, Dr. Olufunto Oluyede-Campbell was installed as Regent on 13th August, 2024.

The burial programmes were held from Friday 9th August 2024 through Sunday 18th August at various locations within Ayede Ogbese and Akure, the capital city of Ondo State.

The burial ceremony featured Farewell Novelty Football Match, flagged off by the Ondo State Government for Youth and Sports, Hon. Saka Yusuf-Ogunleye with huge financial prizes presented to the winners.

As part of the funeral ceremonials, special valedictory court session was conducted on August 15, in honour of the globally-renowned monarch at the Ondo State High Court of Justice, Akure Judicial Division.

Other events were service of songs and Oba Awon Oba Concert.

At the grand reception held on Saturday 17th August, 2024, the Governor of Ondo State, His Excellency, Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, alongside his entourage visited the monarch’s wife and children at the Royal Ranch in Ayede Ogbese to bid farewell and condole with them.

Also, the Amapetu of Mahin Land, HRM Oba Segun Williams Akinyomi led other traditional rulers from Ilaje Local Government to bid farewell and condole with the monarch’s wife, Olufunmilayo who hails from Ode Mahin in Ilaje Local Government.

Eminent Nigerians stormed the reception venue as a renowned musician, Mike Abdul and his team were fully on ground, entertaining the guests at the Royal Ranch.

The reception ceremony also featured cultural dance by Ilaje cultural troupe and Ondo State cultural troupe.

While speaking with newsmen, the monarch’s son, Prince Adetunmbi Oluyede said his father left a good legacy of love, generosity, and selfless service to God and mankind and pledged to build on the solid foundation of her father to continue to impact lives and change the society for the better.

The monarch’s daughter, Dr. Olufunto Oluyede-Campbell in her words, described his late father as a generous man and hardworking fellow who worked hard to take care of his family, A man who brought his children up in the way of the Lord, A man who was always willing to lend a helping hand to people whether you were close to him or not.

Others who spoke about the deceased’s good character and kind gestures were Oba Segun Akinyomi, the Amapetu of Mahin Land and High Chief Martin Oyenowo Ogungbure, the Oyenogho of Mahin kingdom.
