ONDO SPEAKER, OLADIJI BAGS AWARD OF DISTINGUISHED LEGISLATOR OF THE YEAR.
The Speaker, Ondo State House of Assembly was yesterday honoured with the award of Distinguished Legislator of the year by the Correspondents Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Ondo State.
The event which took place at the Blissword Hotel Hall, Ijapo Estate Akure was witnessed by dignitaries from within and outside the State.
Speaking at the event, the Chairman, Correspondents Chapel,Mr. Tosin Ajuwon lauded the Speaker for his dedication and commitment to legislative activities in the hallowed chamber which among others earned him the well deserved honour.
While commending his exemplary leadership and unwavering commitment to the principles of diligence and humanity, Ajuwon said the award was also as a result of his compassion and steadfast dedication to the well _being of people around him.
The Chairman who described Oladiji as a grassroot politician with a heart of gold,prayed that God should continue to grant him joy, good health and success in his endeavours.
Earlier in his response, the Speaker expressed appreciation to the organizers of the event ,saying such would spur him to re-double his effort and contribution towards taking Ondo State to a greater height.
Oladiji used the medium to thank the Governor of Ondo State, Honourable Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa for his various landmark achievements aimed at putting smiles on faces of individuals in the State.
ONDO SPEAKER, OLADIJI HAILS OSRC ON PROFESSIONALISM, ASSURES OF GOVERNMENT’S SUPPORT
The Speaker of the Ondo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon.(Chief) Olamide Oladiji has commended the Management and staff of the Ondo State Radiovision Corporation (OSRC) for their admirable professionalism and dedication to duty at all times.
The Commendation was given by the Speaker today while featuring on an OSRC Programme tagged “THE CIRCUIT ‘ held at the station in Orita Obele, Akure.
According to him, the state’s owned station has been performing creditably well beyond expectation despite the dwindling economy and hardship in Nigeria.
Giving kudos to the staff of the station for their accurate reportage aimed at educating, informing, and entertaining the general public,he charged them to maintain the tempo for a sustainable goal.
Speaking on a paper titled:’ Impact of an Independent Legislature on a virile Democracy’, Oladiji emphasized that an independent legislature is essential for upholding the rule of law in Nigeria.
While describing an independent legislature as a cornerstone of Democratic governance,he explained that the independence of the legislature is essential for maintaining the balance of power, promoting transparency and safeguarding the right of citizens.
Earlier,the Chairman, Ondo State Radio Corporation, Mr. Kunle Adebayo, Commended the Speaker for his leadership quality and unwavering support for the Governor of Ondo State, Hon.Lucky Orimisan, Aiyedatiwa.
The Chairman who described Oladiji as a Man of honour and integrity, assured that the station would not relent in its oars of reporting the activities of the House when necessary.
