Encomium as Ondo Amotekun commander, Adeleye bags Best Security Officer Award

It was a day of honour for the commander of Amotekun Corps in Ondo state, Chief Adetunji Adeleye as the Correspondents Chapel of the state Council of the Nigerian Union of Journalists bestowed on him the award of distinguished Security Officer of the Year.

Presenting the award to Chief Adeleye in Akure, the Chairman, Correspondents’ chapel, Comrade Tosin Ajuwon said the honour was a testimony to the great impacts of the Amotekun corps on the security architecture of Ondo state.

He appreciated the efforts of the Amotekun corps commander for his good relationship with other security agencies in ensuring that peace reigned in the sunshine state.

Mr Ajuwon described Chief Adeleye as formidable force in the Nigerian security sector going by his track record since he became the Head of the security agency in 2020 especially by ensuring drastic reduction in cases of kidnapping in Ondo state.

Speaking after receiving the award, Chief Adeleye flanked by his wife appreciated members of the correspondent Chapel for the recognition and promised that the Amotekun corps would continue to protect the lives and properties of Ondo state residents.

He also used the opportunity to thank the government and people for their cooperation in the task of riding the sunshine state of Crimes.

Chief Adeleye was accompanied to the event by the Ogun Amotekun Corps Commander, M O Aina, his Ekiti state counterpart, Brigadier General Ibukun Peter, rtd and that of Oyo, Colonel Olayinka Olayanju fdc, rtd
