Needs of 67 communities: Gov’s Aide, Hon. Bode Obanla submits Ondo North Report, set up Advisory Council

History was made on Thursday 29th August, 2024 by the Senior Special Assistant to Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa on Community Engagement, (OSSACE), Hon. Bode Obanla as he officially presented a compendium of all the needs assessment of 67 villages and town in all the 6 local government areas in Ondo North senatorial district to OSSACE Advisory Council for onward transmission to Mr. Governor

Hon. Obanla who said the engagements were first of its kind after a similar initiative by former Governor Olusegun Mimiko who kick started Town Hall engagements with communities.

While particularly noting that the indigenes were happy to have their inputs in matters that directly affects them, Hon. Obanla expressed confidence that the Governor of Ondo State, Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa will no doubt look into the compendium and address the needs of the communities.

At the event also was the lawmaker representing Owo/Ose Federal Constituency at the National Assembly, Hon.Timehin Adelegbe who is the chairman of the Advisory Council, OSSACE who used the opportunity to assure the people of the good intentions of Mr. Governor.

He described the approach undertaken by the office of the SSA as a significant and positive deviation from past practices.

“Historically, government projects were often executed with limited input from the communities they were intended to serve, sometimes leading to outcomes that does not align with the immediate needs of the people.

“This administration, under the visionary leadership of Governor Aiyedatiwa, has embraced a bottom-up approach, ensuring that the voices of our communities are heard and that their most pressing needs are identified and addressed”

“This bottom-up approach to governance is not only more inclusive but also more effective. It ensures that government interventions are precisely targeted to the critical needs of our people, thereby maximizing the impact of every project and initiative”, he added.

He also charged members of the constituent to deliver massive votes during the November 16th governorship polls for Governor Aiyedatiwa.

Also speaking, the secretary of the Advisory Council, Hon Kolawole Babatunde admonished the people of his constituency to go and work for the emergence of Mr. Governor so that his good intentions can be translated to dividends for the people.

In a separate remark, Dr. Igbekele Dawodu expressed confidence in the candidature of Governor Aiyedatiwa saying he deserves the people’s vote as a performing Governor.

The climax of the event is the official presentation of the community engagement report to OSSACE Advisory Council for onward transmission to Mr. Governor for action.
