How FG partnering Ondo Govt to construct 1,000 Housing Units in four towns —Sowore

….Speaks on strategies for C-of-O issuance.

Hon. Akinwumi Sowore, Ondo State Commissioner for Lands and Housing, has said that the state government under the leadership of Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa is partnering the Federal Government to construct 1,000 housing units across Ondo state.

Sowore made the disclosure at the NUJ Press Centre, Akure, during a media parley organised by the State Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Otunba Wale Akinlosotu on Thursday in Akure.

The commissioner, who said that the collaboration was to improve the housing issues in the state, explained that his ministry was saddled with construction, upgrade and maintenance of all public buildings to global standards.

According to Sowore, the ministry has allocated 100 hectares of land  to the Federal Housing Authority in Akure, Ikare, Ore and Ugbo for the construction of 1,000 housing units.

Sowore, who said that the new Governor’s lodge was in 90 per cent completion said that the ministry had also processed in the renovation of the Deputy Governor’s lodge and Presidential Lodge which were 55 and 100 per cent completions.

“Our ministry is in charge of acquisition of lands and payment of compensation, resolution of disputes, and management of government lands.

“We also have the online title search through the design of barcode, with 1,825 issued, digitalised and indexed Certificates of Occupancy (C-of-O) which is linked to an e-archive database solution.

“The ministry has allocated 100 hectares to the Federal Housing Authority in Akure, Ikare, Ore and Ugbo for the construction of 1,000 housing units,” Sowore said.

In a remark, the Commissioner for Information, Wale Akinlosotu, said the Aiyedatiwa’s administration would continue to carry out projects that would have positive impacts on the people, especially in the area of land and housing.
