SDGs: Avant-Integrity Humanitarian Initiatives ‘AIHI’ embarks on ‘Embrace Town Planning’ awareness campaign in Ondo State

Sequel to the emerging global Environmental crisis, based on the mismanagement of environmental resources E.g. (Land and it’s appurtenances) resulting from Human activities.

An NGO incorporated under the Company and Allied Matters Act CAMA of the Federal Republic of Nigeria with RC: 7692141; dedicated to the improvements of the Environment via Environmental Protection Awareness and enhanced Welfarism of the citizenry has launched into creating awareness for proper management of the Physical Spaces.

This was further notched with the Campaign for Town planning Profession as one of the rudimental profession that needs to be consulted before any developmental project is carried out within the physical urban & rural spaces in order to ensure orderliness, conformity, aesthetics and best uses of the urban land uses with the available resources while matching up with posterity sake.

The maiden Awareness program kick-started in Akure, August 5 2024 with a tour around the Akure metropolitan city by the AIH Initiatives representatives in an attempt to inspect the present Environmental conditions of the physical built-up space.

The team leader, Tpl. Segun Orimoloye, MNITP, RTP. appreciate the efforts of Mr. Governor, Aiyedatiwa for his commitments towards ensuring Ondo State attain Safe and Clean City standards. He further beckoned on the environmental allied Regulatory parastatals to Support Mr. Governor committments in order to achieve a Sustainable Sunshine State.

Also, More Attention of Mr. Governor is needed towards ensuring realistic Town planning regulations for an Inclusive, Decent, Safe and Clean City by shunning Slums developments in our dear sunshine State.

As part of the commitments of Avant-Integrity Humanitarian Initiatives (AIHI) in ensuring an Inclusive, Safe & Clean City.

AIH INITIATIVES embarked on the Exposure of Big commercial Billboards of size (20ft/10ft) in notable strategic places along major Roads with ability to capture plethora of audience for Outdoor Advertisements of the Physical Environmental Awareness.

The first facility with the exposure of Campaign for Town Planning Profession was erected at Oyemekun road, directly opposite Ministry of Works. The Awareness Exposure materials encourage people to “EMBRACE TOWN PLANNING Today” for further attainment of Sustainable developments goals in our dear sunshine state.

It further stated that people should avoid Demolition. And Say No to illegal developments and unplanned settlements by consulting a Registered Town Planner before any developmental project for necessary Planning Permits & Approvals after their development ideas & working drawings are already in Place. It’s the Obligation of a Registered Town Planner to ideally transform the ideas of the prospective developers (both Micro & Macro levels) to a well-processed Approvable phases for physical developments permission with the Government & her Authority.

In the same vein, Campaign Exposure was launched for Environmental Sanitation. A commercial billboard was also placed at Popular Ilesha garage Market, opposite Mobil Filling Station Obasanjo-Oyemekun road Akure. The Proper Hygiene and Sanitation Awareness Exposure materials encourages citizens to properly disposed Wastes, and shun dumping refuse inside drainages as it’s usually block the free flow of running water while resulting to another environmental crisis such as Floods, Air & Water Pollution amidst other environmental crisis.

Segun Orimoloye, MNITP, RTP. further reiterates the focus of the organisation in partnering with Government and necessary Agencies to actualise Sustainable developments goals in our dear Sunshine State. While Improving on the global Sustainable development Goals Agenda (4, 6, & 11) for progressive & inclusive Governance.
