Greetings on the 64th Independence Day Anniversary
On behalf of the entire workforce of Ondo State, I want to extend our heartfelt congratulations to Your Excellency, Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa and the good people of Sunshine State especially our members (ever Hardworking Workers) on the occasion of Nigeria’s 64th Independence Day anniversary taking place today 1st October, 2024.
As we celebrate this momentous occasion, it is paramount to reflect on the enduring spirit of resilience and determination that has defined our nation’s journey. Despite the current challenging economic situation, which has placed immense pressure on the livelihoods of Nigeria citizens and workers, we remain hopeful for a brighter future built on unity, equity, and progress.
The prevailing economic hardships have particularly affected the well-being of workers across various sectors in particular and Nigerians in general. Many of our members have faced difficulties in meeting their basic needs due to the rising cost of living and limited purchasing power.
We acknowledge Your Excellency has been instrumental in promoting workers well-being, we appreciate your efforts and implore Your Excellency to continue taking the welfare of workers as paramount in your policies and actions.
We also want to commend your proactive approach to improving security in the state, which has contributed significantly to making Ondo State a safer and more stable environment. Your Excellency’s dedication to ensuring the protection of lives and property has not gone unnoticed, and we deeply appreciate the strategic interventions and investments in security infrastructure, as well as the support given to security agencies.
We, however, enjoin Your Excellency to continue intensifying these efforts to further make Ondo State a safe haven for all as a secure environment is fundamental for both economic development and social well-being, and we believe that with Your Excellency continued commitment, our state will become a model of peace and safety in the region.
In light of the present economic challenges, we earnestly request Your Excellency to consider further interventions that would alleviate the hardships faced by workers, including ensuring the prompt payment of salaries, implementation of New Minimum Wage, in line with economic realities, and enhanced social safety nets. These measures are crucial for the welfare of workers and maintaining industrial harmony and fostering productivity, which are essential for the overall development of our dear state.
As we look ahead with optimism, we pledge our support to your administration’s efforts in steering our dear Ondo State towards sustainable growth and prosperity.
Once again, congratulations Ondo State Workers and Your Excellency, on Nigeria’s 64th Independence Anniversary.
