A Voice for Justice: Ekimogun Youths Condemn False Allegations Against Dr Gbala
The Ekimogun Youths Connect (EYC), a prominent platform representing over five thousand youths across various professions in Ondo Kingdom, has been dedicated to fostering unity, youth development, financial empowerment, social justice, good governance, and peaceful coexistence for over 20 years.
With members and representatives present from different streets in Ondo Kingdom, the EYC continues to play a crucial role in the kingdom’s social, physical, and economic development, while standing as a defender of truth.
In light of recent events, the EYC firmly condemns the baseless accusations made by a faceless group called the Ondo State Elegant Youth Forum (OSEYF) against Dr. Michael Olumide Gbala, the Acting Chief Medical Director of the University of Medical Sciences Teaching Hospital, Ondo. We are well aware of the hospital’s significant growth under Dr. Gbala’s leadership over the past six months, with many of our members directly witnessing the progress.
These accusations, including unfounded claims of patient diversions, are nothing but fabrications, as numerous testimonies from our members, both before and after Dr. Gbala assumed office, speak to his passion, professionalism, and unwavering commitment to the hospital’s success.
Dr. Gbala’s outstanding dedication is evidenced by his hands-on involvement in clinical duties, resident and medical student training, administrative responsibilities, and his daily inspections of hospital activities as reported by the staffs and even our members who work in the Teaching Hospital. His leadership has earned widespread respect from both staff and patients alike.
The timing of these allegations coincides with the end of Dr. Gbala’s six-month probation as Acting CMD, suggesting that the accusations stem from power struggles rather than truth. This is an attempt to get by blackmail what they can not get by merit. It is notable that his critics cannot accuse him of incompetence or mismanagement, nor provide any concrete evidence of their claims, such as identifying a single patient allegedly diverted by Dr. Gbala.
A man favored and helped by God cannot be brought down by falsehood, and we must move beyond the tactics of using baseless accusations to tear others down. Our society thrives on merit, excellence, transparency, and good governance, and we must continue to promote these values.

continued leadership. The attempt to tarnish his reputation through baseless accusations has failed, and
we remain steadfast in our solidarity with him.
