APC boosted, as PDP Heavyweights, 2,000 Supporters defected in Idanre

Idanre Local Government branch of the Peoplee Democratic Party (PDP) was heavily depleted on Thursday, October 17, 2024, as bigwigs and more than 2000 members of the umbrella party officially decamped to the All Progressive Congress (APC).

The decampees were led by the former PDP House of Assembly candidate in Idanre, Hon. Aderemi Oyewole, popularly known as Gulder.

He led other former bigwigs of the PDP, that include Hon. Oluyemi Akinde, Smart Olonimoyo Lady T, Kanada Akinlalu, Olympas, Ladi, Omosagba and Saliu. Other decampees from Idanre PDP were the Youth Leaders, Women Leaders, Artisan Leaders, and Market Women Leaders.

While speaking at the event of official decamping, APC Chairman in Ondo State, Engr. Ade Adetimehin warmly welcomed the new decampees into the progressive party. He assured the decampees that their rewards and growth in the APC would be limitless.

He also encouraged the decampees that their contributions to the APC would not go unrewarded.

Adetimehin also took time to reel out the achievements of the APC led government in Idanre Local Government Area in the last seven and half years. He emphasized that it was the APC led administration that initiated and completed the construction of an alternative route to Idanre. He likewise mentioned other road projects already completed by the APC led administration in Idanre.

Meanwhile, leader of the PDP decampees, Hon. Aderemi Oyewole, better known as Gulder, said that he and other defectors were encouraged to join APC because of the sterling leadership style and performance of Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa. He however assured that all the defectors had joined APC with the intention of adding values, and to also work assiduously for the victory of Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa in the November 16, 2024 governorship election. Gulder was equally emphatic that he and other decampees did not join APC to intimidate any of the existing members of the ruling party.

Chieftains of the All Progressive Congress (APC) that attended the event include Dr. Mrs Seun Bosede Osamaye(Eyeoma) , Special Adviser to Governor Aiyedatiwa on Women Affairs; Hon. Prince Kayode Aroloye, Idanre LCDA Central Chairman ; Hon. Smart Omotadowa, Chairman Idanre Local Government; Hon. Afolabi Adesoji, former Idanre Local Government Chairman ; Hon. Henry Olatuja, Special Assistant to the Governor; and Hon. Makinsun Sunday, Special Assistant to the Governor.

Others in attendance were Pastor Olutoyese, an elder of Idanre APC ; Hon. Isaac Eniola (Young Boss), Special Assistant to the Governor; Hon. Gbolagun, Idanre LCDA member ; Arch. Idowu Akinseye, Engr. Osedele Folarin, Idanre APC Leader ; Hon. Pastor Marcus Adeuti, Special Assistant to the Governor; Hon. Victor Akinduko, Idanre APC Leader ; Hon. Adeyefa, LCDA Secretary ; Mrs Utiola Richard, Ologbosere Women Leader; and Hon. Oludele, former Idanre Local Government Secretary.

The event’s vote of thanks was given by Hon. Tajudeen Adefisoye, who is popularly known as Small Alhaji. He pleaded for unity among Idanre APC members, and also urged all members to go the extra mile to ensure a landslide victory for Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa in the local government.
