Open Letter to Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, APC State Executive Members, and Ondo West APC Executive
Injustice in the Selection/Imposition of Councilor Candidate on the People of Ward 2, Ondo West
We, the Association of Non-Indigenes, also known as Ajoji Parapo, write to express our deep displeasure and outright rejection of the imposition of a councilor candidate on the people of Ward 2 in Ondo West. This act, which disregards the democratic rights and collective will of the people, is unacceptable and must be addressed with urgency to restore fairness and justice.
The people of Ward 2 have spoken clearly and unequivocally through their overwhelming support for Lukman Kolawole Adeyemi, a reputable and illustrious son of the ward. His character, leadership qualities, and commitment to the development of the community have earned him the trust and admiration of the majority.
We strongly oppose any attempt to sideline the collective choice of the people in favor of an imposed candidate. Such actions not only undermine the democratic principles upon which the APC stands but also threaten the unity and trust within the party at the grassroots level.
As a united association, we hereby:
1. Reiterate our support for Lukman Kolawole Adeyemi, the people’s choice.
2. Urge the APC leadership at the state and local levels to respect the will of the people and reconsider any imposed decision.
3. Appeal to Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa to intervene in this matter to ensure justice, equity, and the preservation of the party’s integrity in Ondo West.
Let it be known that the strength of the APC lies in its commitment to upholding democratic values and listening to the voices of its members and constituents. We believe this issue presents an opportunity to demonstrate that the party prioritizes fairness and accountability.
We trust that our concerns will receive the urgent attention they deserve, and we remain hopeful that justice will prevail for the people of Ward 2 in Ondo West.
