SUSPENSION OF 14-DAY WARNING STRIKE
Arising from the meeting held with the Ondo State Government yesterday, Tuesday, 8th July, 2025 at the Governor’s Office, Akure on the on-going 14-Day Warning Strike by the Joint Action Committee of the Ondo State Owned Tertiary Institutions (JAC-ODSTI) comprising of the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU), Non-Academic Staff Union (NASU), National Association of Academic Technologists (NAAT) and the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Polytechnics (SSANIP) in Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko, Olusegun Agagu University of Science and Technology, Okitipupa, University of Medical Sciences, Ondo and Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Owo, we hereby suspend our Warning Strike with immediate effect.
This is due to the following resolutions reached with State Government:
- Payment of the last tranche of our Wage Award unfailingly by next week.
- Payment of the outstanding January, 2017 Subventions to all the three Universities to offset some of the outstanding arrears owed our members.
- Approval to increase the monthly subventions of all the tertiary institutions after necessary checks on their incomes and expenditures must have been done.
- The Government sought the support of all our members to put in place necessary technological apparatus to monitor the incomes and expenditures of the various institutions.
In view of these resolutions and the immediate matching order given to the Commissioner of Finance and the State Accountant General to effect compliance of the resolutions on/before Tuesday,15th July, 2025, we hereby direct all our members in the various institutions to resume duties immediately.
