Political wrangling in the ruling APC deepens, as Hon Tajudeen Adefisoye, a former member of the House of Representatives (MHR 2019 – 2023), Idanre / Ifedore Federal constituency, has reacted to power struggle within the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State over the formation of support groups to push for the re-election campaign of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ahead of 2027.
A post on his verified social media handles, Adefisoye popularly known as Small Alhaji, said “A Call for Transparency and Loyalty in Ondo State Politics.”
The Governor of Ondo State, Dr. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, had on Friday, August 1, 2025, hosted a special meeting of the Ondo State Leaders Caucus of the All Progressives Congress (APC), in a move to strengthen the ruling party in the State and floated an umbrella structure named ‘Ondo State for Tinubu 2027’, adding that all groups in the State must collapse under his political structure as the leader of the party in the state.
The directive on collapsing all the support groups for Tinubu under the Governor’s structure had been rejected by some groups.
However reacting to this development, Adefisoye said “In that same election (2023), I personally funded APC’s campaigns in Idanre/Ifedore for the presidential, senatorial, and House of Reps election, spending over ₦1.4 billion from my personal funds. Beyond the money, I fought for the party’s image on social media, defending our candidate. Though I lost, others won, and I remained loyal to APC without grumbling.
“Yet, since then, I haven’t received any appointment from the Tinubu administration. Till date, I’m still living well. I’m still standing strong. I haven’t turned a beggar. However, people who contributed far less, or nothing at all have been compensated with juicy appointments. I congratulate them in good faith, but I won’t keep quiet either. I believe that in due time, my loyalty and sacrifices will speak for me.
“In 2024, I was appointed Director-General of Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa’s campaign in Idanre. I accepted that role because I believed his emergence would put an end to unchecked betrayal and anti-party behavior in our politics. Despite the gang-up by some forces in Idanre to prevent our victory, Almighty Allah granted us victory on November 16, 2024.
“I am proud of that victory. I am proud of my role. And I remain committed to Governor Aiyedatiwa’s administration and to the unity and progress of Ondo State.
“Let me be very clear: APC in Ondo State is not a playground for opportunists or saboteurs. Anyone trying to scatter what we built go collect Wotowoto. Some of us no dey fear. We no dey shake. We dey stand gidigba for Asiwaju and we go continue to defend that mandate.
“The truth is simple: President Tinubu does not need hundreds of support groups to win Ondo State. The state already dey hin pocket. All the noise is unnecessary. We’re solidly behind Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, and we will continue to mobilize for APC and deliver for our people.
“This is my truth. I’ve said it publicly. If anybody has another version, make dem come out. Let’s talk face-to-face. No secrets. No lies. Let us build a stronger, cleaner, and more united APC in Ondo.
“Make una no carry body come oh. Asiwaju go win Ondo State massively.
