…..No Guest gets missing in our room —Sunview Hotel, Akure reacts to trending disappearance of school VP

A popular Sunview Hotel, Alagbaka Akure, has denied that a guest named Olaloye Olatunde, didn’t disappear in its room contrary to claim in some quarters and on social media.
Olatunde had traveled from Owo on Sunday, August 24, 2025, to participate in a Child Labour program organized by Trace Project Akure in collaboration with Charakids Foundation at a popular Sunview Hotel, Alagbaka Akure.
His missing personal belongings were discovered inside the hotel room where he was lodging for the seminar.
The Spokesperson of the Ondo state police command, Ayanlade Olayinka, had confirmed that the matter had been reported to the police.
However reacting, the Management of the Hotel debunked the claim that the man who is a school Vice Principal, got missing inside its room, insisting that he had lodged out on that day as confirmed through a call to the organisers of the program.

PRESS STATEMENT
Clarifications on unfounded reports regarding missing guest at Sunview Hotel
The Management of Sunview Hotel wishes to put in proper perspective the concerns and distress that the trending reports on a missing guest have caused our esteemed customers and the family members of the missing guest,
While we want to assure our valued guests, partners, and the general public that we take the safety and security of everyone on our premises very seriously, a thorough review of our security records, surveillance footage, and incident reports, confirm that no kidnapping incident or any criminal activity occurred at our hotel.
The missing guest checked in like other participants for the workshop they came for but on the last day of the workshop when others have checked out, it was discovered that his belongings are still in the room. However, when contacted, the organizers of the event informed our front desk staff that the guest had to leave for an official assignment and requested that his luggage be removed from the room to avoid additional charges. This is the simple truth behind the misunderstanding.
We prioritize the safety, security, and comfort of our guests, and our hotel operates with round-the-clock surveillance and professional security personnel. We are working closely with the family members of the missing guest and other relevant authorities to ensure that the facts are verified and that false information is not used to damage our reputation.
We kindly request that the public and the media rely on verified information from official channels and disregard these unfounded allegations. At Sunview Hotel, we remain dedicated to providing world-class hospitality services in an environment of safety, trust, and transparency.
