The Special Assistant to the Ondo State Governor on Emergency Response, Hon. (Prince) Wellington Oriade Adebawo has issued a firm and timely warning to all reckless drivers, particularly operators of heavy-duty vehicles plying the roads across Ondo State.
This followed the recent constant accidents caused by the reckless driving of truck drivers.
The Special Assistant said he has noticed that some motorists have continued to engage in careless and dangerous driving, leading to accidents and the destruction of valuable government infrastructure, stressing that such irresponsible culture not only endangers innocent lives but also undermines the sincere efforts of the present administration to uphold order, safety, and the aesthetic beauty of the State.
He said, “I wish to state unequivocally that such acts of recklessness will no longer be tolerated.
“Any driver found guilty of driving irresponsibly or damaging government property shall be apprehended and prosecuted in accordance with the laws of Ondo State.
“At this critical time, when the construction of the flyover project is ongoing and certain routes have been temporarily closed or diverted, I strongly advise all motorists to exercise utmost caution and patience,” he stated.
He stressed that the Governor of Ondo State, His Excellency, Dr. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, remains steadfast in his commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of all citizens while beautifying and modernizing our environment. He urged the people to support this vision by driving responsibly, respecting road laws, and protecting public property.
