
The Deputy Chief of Staff to the Governor of Ondo State (Office of the Deputy Governor), Dr Adekola Falohun, has congratulated the newly appointed Grand Chief Imam of Owo Land, Sheikh Yunus Anola, describing his emergence as a testament to his scholarship, humility, and exemplary character.
In a statement issued in Akure on Monday, Dr Falohun expressed “utmost joy” at the news, noting that the broad support for Sheikh Anola’s appointment reflected the community’s appreciation of his devotion to faith and service.
“Without doubt, the appointment was well deserved, just as the popular support for your emergence reflects the people’s appreciation of your scholarship, humility, character, and patriotic fervour,” he said.
The Deputy Chief of Staff commended the new Grand Chief Imam’s leadership and his consistent commitment to peace and social progress. “As a community leader, you leave nobody in doubt about your passion for progress and societal reformation,” he remarked. “And as a cleric, your love for peace and interreligious harmony remains inspiring.”
Dr Falohun prayed for divine guidance and wisdom for the new spiritual leader, urging him to lead with compassion and fairness. “As you assume this sacred responsibility, I beseech Almighty Allah to grant you wisdom, guidance, compassion, and steadfastness to lead the Muslim community aright,” he prayed.
He expressed confidence that Sheikh Anola’s tenure would inspire unity, spiritual growth, and development across Owo and beyond. “May your stewardship bring enlightenment, peace, harmony, and progress to Owo, Ondo State, and Nigeria,” he added, while congratulating the Owo Muslim community on what he described as an “auspicious and well-deserved elevation.”
