- Asagunla hails Tinubu over Benin–Owo–Akure–Ilesha–Ibadan road reconstruction
The Ondo State Women’s Coordinator of the Asiwaju Mandate Group (AMG), an independent support organisation for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Mrs. Yetunde Adeyanju, has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for reviving the economy, declaring that the President’s ongoing economic reforms will soon drive down the price of a bag of rice to about ₦20,000.
Adeyanju, a former commissioner in the state, also said the achievements of the Tinubu administration in various sectors were enough to guarantee him victory in the 2027 presidential election.
Speaking on Thursday in Ondo town during the AMG Women’s Wing sensitisation programme for women across the six local government areas of the Ondo Central Senatorial District, Adeyanju lauded the President’s “bold and deliberate reforms” in human capital and infrastructural development.
“Very soon, Nigerians will start buying rice at the rate of ₦20,000 per bag because of what the President has done in the last two years. I am a trader too, and I understand market trends. Two years ago, we were buying rice for as much as ₦180,000 to ₦200,000 per bag, but I can assure you that within the next two years, we will be buying rice for less than ₦20,000,” she said.

She explained that the sensitisation initiative, championed by the Minister of Interior, Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, was aimed at enlightening women about the achievements of President Tinubu and the need to sustain his Renewed Hope Agenda beyond 2027.
According to her, the AMG Women’s Wing has the mandate to mobilise female voters across Ondo State’s 18 local government areas and ensure overwhelming support for the President and the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the next general election.
Also speaking, the Director-General of the AMG, Asiwaju Olumuyiwa Asagunla, commended President Tinubu for the commencement of the Benin–Owo–Akure–Ilesha–Ibadan road reconstruction project, describing it as a major boost for economic activities and inter-state connectivity.
Asagunla said the group had intensified grassroots mobilisation to consolidate the President’s growing popularity in the South-West, noting that recent government interventions such as the NELFUND student loan scheme underscored Tinubu’s commitment to citizens’ welfare.
“What we are doing is to sensitise our people about the good works of our President through the Renewed Hope Agenda. Nigerians are already seeing a better government, and it is time we support continuity,” he said.
Asagunla also urged parents to encourage their children to enrol in technical colleges, which he noted have been made tuition-free under the Tinubu administration.
The women’s group, in its resolution, pledged to deliver massive votes for President Tinubu and the APC in the 2027 general election.
