Ondo Commissioner Ajaka sets agenda for health workers

WE ARE COMMITTED TO EFFECTIVE HEALTH CARE DELIVERY-AJAKA

Ondo State Commissioner for Health, Dr.Banji Awolowo Ajaka has reiterated the state government’s commitment to achieving the effective health care and social welfare goal of the state’s health sector and make the sector the best health sector in Nigeria.

Ajaka made the assertion in his keynote address at the New Year Prayer Meeting and Thanksgiving organised by the Ministry of Health for workers in the state health sector held at the Conference Hall of the Ministry today.

The Commissioner who described the health sector in Ondo State as a wonderful family welcomed all workers in the sector to the New Year 2022 charging them to remain diligent and punctual at their various duty posts in the New Year.

Ajaka appreciated the State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN for counting him and the Special Adviser to the Governor on Health, Professor Dayo Faduyile worthy of joining his cabinet.

While observing that it was the mercy of God that enabled individuals to surmount the challenges of the outgone Year 2021 and brought us safely into the New Year 2022,the Commissioner urged health workers to take all the doses of the COVID-19 vaccines and be good ambassadors by mobilising the people of the state to take the vaccines.

Also speaking at the event, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Health, Pharmacist (Mrs.) Folukemi Aladenola said the event was designed to appreciate God for all what He did for the Ondo State Health Sector in Year 2021 and what he would do in Year 2022.

Aladenola added that the state health sector is in for a good time as it is privileged to have medical experts as the Commissioner for Health and Special Adviser on Health.

She appreciated the State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN for his tremendous support for the health sector in 2021 saying the governor gave prompt approval to all the Ministry’s proposals during the year.

Aladenola highlighted such supports of the governor to include the signing into law the bill for the establishment of the Ondo State Drugs and Health Commodities Management Agency (OSDHCMA), hosting of the Health Summit, the Examiners’ Workshop of the National Association of Nigerian Nurses and Midwives(NANNM) and the National Conference of the Institute of Dietetics of Nigeria(IDN).

The Permanent Secretary listed other achievements of the state health sector during 2021 as the full accreditation of several courses at the Ondo- State College of Health Technology, Akure and the capacity building training workshop organised for all workers in the sector.

In his exhortation,the District Overseer of Foursquare Gospel Church, Akure, Revd.Jeremiah Oyegoke charged workers in Ondo State to continue to demonstrate attitudes that can move the Nation forward forward and develop a personal relationship with God.

Oyegoke who took his exhortation titled “Divine Assurance and Divine Defence” from Psalm 91 implored the workers to rely on God for the fulfilment of all their expectations this New Year 2022.
