Lola Fagbemi begins Strides at Commerce, Industry & Co-op Ministry, tours Markets, Trade Fair

There was jubilation at the Ondo State Trade Fair, Industrial Park and some Markets in Akure metropolis when the Honourable Commissioner for Commerce, Industry and Cooperative Services, Hon Lola Fagbemi was on a familiarization tours.

She was accompanied on the tour last week by the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, Dr. O. A. Durojaye; Director of Finance and Administration; the Director in charge of Commerce, Mr. Awodogun and other staff of the ministry.

The first pont of visit was the Ondo State Trade Fair Complex, the Commissioner reiterated the commitment of the present administration to improve on the Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) and this could be achieved when those occupying the government’s stands and pavilions at the Trade Fair Complex, Akure fully and promptly paid their rents.

Hon Fagbemi also used the opportunity to inspect the stands and other government facilities to ascertain their shapes.

The Commissioner also visited the Industrial Park, Auto Mart, Mechanic Village, Isinkan Market, NEPA Markets 1&2 and Ilula Joint.

The Commissioner and her entourage were taken round the facilities by the Park Union Chairman, Comrade George Bamidele, Mechanic Village Union Secretary, Iyaloja Chief Mrs. Obawoju Modupe, Iyaloja Chief Mrs Kemi Aisida, Iyaloja Chief Mrs Adebiyi Beatrice and Ilula Joint Manager respectively.

Hon Fagbemi charged them to cooperate with the Rotimi Akeredolu’s administration in fulfilling its electioneering campaign promises by paying up their rents, tax and also shun subletting.

The Commissioner appealed to the traders to be conscious of their health by keeping their environment clean at all times because of a popular saying that ‘health is wealth’.

In their responses, the leaders of the traders promised their unalloyed loyalty to the present government and assured the Commissioner that all the outstanding debt would be paid by their members.

They were extremely happy and excited that Governor Akeredolu appointed a seasoned and well known politically conscious minded female administrator to head the ministry.
