More facts have emerged over the detention of the lawmaker representing Akoko South West II, Felemu Gudu-Bankole and the Clerk of the Ondo State House of Assembly, Mr. Bode Adeyelu who regained their freedom from EFCC custody on Wednesday.

Their release comes after they have met their bail condition.

SUNSHINETRUTH had reported last week that the duo were detained by the EFCC after responding to the invitation of the Anti-graft agency over alleged N2.4million seminar fraud.

The Assembly had accused the lawmaker representing Odigbo constituency1, Iroju Ogundeji of being behind the detention of the principal officers, following a petition written to the EFCC.

But, Iroju who was removed as the state Deputy Speaker few months ago, said his move to filed the petition was in order to clear his name from the said money being collected on his behalf to attend a seminar that does not exist.

Iroju who spoke with newsmen, noted that he needed to clear his name.

Meanwhile, the anti-graft agency has extended invitations to more lawmakers of the Assembly for questioning next week over alleged committee fraud.

Chairman House Committee on Information Youth and Sports Development, Olugbenga Omole confirmed the release of the lawmaker and the Clerk.

Omole said he was yet to be briefed on reports that the EFCC was extending same invitations to other lawmakers over the alleged seminar fraud.
