Osun Governor, Gboyega Oyetola Appoints New Deputy Rector For OSCOTECH In Esa Oke

The Executive Governor of Osun State, Mr. Gboyega Oyetola has appointed a new helsman as the Deputy Rector of the Osun State College of Technology (OSCOTECH) in Esa – Oke. His name is Mr. Lawrence Oludare Adeyeri.

According to the Director of Media and Publicity for the Osun State College of Technology, Esa-Oke; Dr. Wale Oyekanmi through a press release signed and sent to the PMParrot on Friday, he said: “the appointment of the new Deputy Rector was confirmed by the State Governor, Mr. Gboyega Oyetola as a result of the election held by the College Board of Studies where Mr. Lawrence Oludare Adeyeri was announced to have defeated two (2) other candidates who contested the position with him”.

Oyekanmi in his press statement revealed “that Mr. Adeyeri was first appointed by the Institution on the 1st of September, 1995 as a Lecturer III. He was said to have later rose through the ranks to become a Chief Lecturer in the year 2018”.

Running through his Curriculum Vitae (CV), Mr. Lawrence Oludare Adeyeri obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education (Mathematics) from the prestigious University of Ilorin (UNILORIN) in 1990.

He bagged his Masters of Science in Numerical Analysis in the year 2013 and currently, he is a Ph.D Student in Mathematics (Numerical Analysis) in the same University from the year 2017 till date.

His records showed that he was a one time Head of the Department of Mathematics and Statisitics. He later became the Dean of the Faculty of Pure and Applied Sciences before his present appointment as the Deputy Rector of the Institution.

The new Deputy Rector is happily married with Children.

OSCOTECH Foundation Donates Sum Of N100,000.00k To An Indigent Student

A Foundation based at the Osun State College Of Technology (OSCOTECH), Esa-Oke has donated a whopping sum of N100,000 to an indigent Student of Institution recently to assist her in her academic pursuit in the Institution.

Giving out the donation in the Institution’s main Campus recently, the Rector of the State Tertiary Institution, Dr. Samson Omobayo Adegoke made another history when he presented a cheque of N100,000 to one Miss Aluko Abosede Jumoke, a National Diploma 2 in the Department of Science Laboratory Technology on behalf of members of OSCOTECH Foundation.

According to the Director of Media and Partnership of the Osun State College of Technology (OSCOTECH), Esa Oke, Dr. Wale Oyekanmi, through a press release he signed and sent to PMParrot said “the beneficiary of the donation from the Institution’s Foundation was rescued by some good Samaritans when she attempted to commit suicide because she was unable to pay her school fees while the School’s examination was going on in the College”.

Oyekanmi maintained “that the Foundation is a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) established by the Staff members of the Institution and financed through donations from their salaries”.

He, Oyekanmi explained that the first philanthropic gesture by the Foundation was the feeding of the less priviledged in seven communities around the Institution which are Esa-Oke, Ìjẹ̀bú-Jẹ̀ṣà, Ilóko-Ìjẹ̀sà, Ijeda, Ìwòye-Ìjẹ̀sà, Esa- Odo, Ère-Ìjẹ̀sà and Etí-Òní during the Covid- 19 lock down experienced last year 2020.

While speaking during the formal presentation of the Foundation’s Donation, “the Rector of the College, Dr. Samson Omobayo Adegoke thanked all those who donated to the Foundation and appeals to those who are yet to be part of the initiative to do so”.

Adegoke seized the opportunity to appeal to all the indigent students of the College to seek assistance from people instead of taking the decision of ending their lives.

The Rector of the College also unveiled that there will be a general test for all indigent Students in the Institution, the successful ones will be given scholarships to pursue their programmes in the Institution from the beginning of this academic session.

The Mother of the Student was equally present at the ceremony with members of the Rector-in-Council.
