Healthcare: Rotary Club reaches out to two Akure North communities

Giving back to the community, helping the less privileged and putting service above self have been the traits of the Rotary Club International

These gestures among others have also made Rotary Club a darling of many Nigerians.

For staff members and patients of both Eleyowo and Imafon Basic Health centers in Akure North Local Government Area of Ondo State, they won’t forget so soon the helping hands of Rotary Club of Akure District 9125, when hospital materials were distributed to the Maternity Centers to celebrate the Maternal and Child Health Month.

President Rotary Club of Akure District 9125, Rotarian Rachel Akintunde Abioye in an interview with newsmen said the month of April in Rotary International is dedicated for the Maternal and Child Health and that Rotarians will always exhibit the core values of the organisation and explore different avenues through the various themes of each month in Rotary to showcase the good image of Rotary Club.

_” Its our little way to contribute and encourage Nursing Mothers and giving to the Health Centers that take care of the Mother and Child , during the month of Maternal and Child Health “_

At the Imafon health center , hospital materials distributed include , hospital bedsheets ,wastebins, wash hand buckets and mama’s kit to a lucky Mother who just put to bed.

Dignitaries present at the donation include Past President, Rotary Club of Akure , Rotarian Deji Akinwalere, Secretary Rotary Club Akure, Rotarian Kuduyo Michael, the Matron , Mrs Ayodeji Y.K among others.

The lucky Nursing Mothers, both at Eleyowo and Imafon were so happy for the kind guestures. The Matron Mrs. Adebayo Roseline of Eleyowo Health Center appreciated the Rotary Club of Akure for the support they gave at the time in which the clinic is in need of these items.
