West African Union University sets for 4/5th Convocation, to honour Olowo, Falana, others

Some eminent Nigerians will arrive Benin Republic this friday and Saturday to attend the 4th and 5th joint Convocation Ceremony Of the West African Union University Institute, Cotonou, for the 2019/2020 & 2020/2021 academic sessions.

The event will also feature the Convocation lecture entitled; “AFRICA IN THE EYES OF THE WORLD: COMBATING THE POST COVID 19 SOCIO-POLITICAL ECONOMIC REALITIES IN THE MIDST OF FIRE SECURITY CHALLENGES”.

The lecture will be delivered by Dr Muiz Adeyemi Banire, SAN, a Former National Legal Adviser of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Nigerian will hold on Friday 18th June by 3pm.

Other highlights of the program are: award of academic and honourary degrees, Release of the roaring lions and lionesses amongst others.

Eminent personalities to be honoured and expected to grace the occasion are; the Nigeria’s Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola; His Imperial Majesty, Oba Ajibade Gbadegesin Ogunoye III; His Royal Majesty, King (Dr) Benjamin Ikenchuku, Keagborekuzi1, the Chancellor of the University; Professor O.J Ehindero who is the institution’s Vice Chancellor, and the President/Founder, Hon. (Dr.) Bishop O. Adeyemi.

ITS A WEEK OF AWARDS GALORE FOR OLOWO……AS HE BAGS HONORARY DOCTORATE DEGREE…..from a University in Republic of Benin

Following the recommendations of the Senate and upon approval of the Council of the West African Union University, Cotonou, Republic of Benin, His Imperial Majesty, Alayeluwa Oba Ajibade Gbadegesin Ogunoye III, the Olowo of Owo kingdom and Paramount Ruler of Owo Land, will on Saturday 19th of June, 2021 be conferred with Honorary Doctorate Award in the field of Public Administration-DPA Honoris Causa.

According the Council of the institution, Oba Ogunoye’s selection was based on strong recommendations from associates, subjects and the university’s Global Human Development assessors in collaboration with some Non-Government Organizations from across Africa having felt his strategic developmental impacts as a public figure, accomplished administrator, and a resourceful royal leader of his fatherland.

The conferment is scheduled for Saturday 19th of June,2021, during the institution’s 4th & 5th Convocation which will take place at the Palais de Congress, Presidential Boulevard Cotonou,Republic of Benin.
