New Ondo Commissioner Akinlosotu assumes duty, vows to make Tourism viable

HON. AKINLOSOTU RESUMES OFFICE, PROMISES TO TURN FORTUNES AROUND IN CULTURE AND TOURISM SECTOR

The Ondo state Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Hon. Adewale Akinlosotu has vowed to ensure that the state is registered on the world map of viable economic culture and tourism.

The Commissioner disclosed this as he resumed for work, at the ministry’s complex, in Akure, the state capital.

Hon. Akinlosotu who appreciated the state Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, for the confidence reposed in him to lead the ministry, promised to think out of the box towards ensuring that the sector was transformed.

The Commissioner who shunned the general insinuation that some places are dry lands, emphasised that everything was not about money but the qualitative leadership that was being provided to turn things around for good.

“The ministry doesn’t make the commissioner, the commissioner makes the ministry. So, you’re the CEO of that ministry and you have to think outside the box to make sure you advance the vision of the ministry.

“To me, there’s no juicy or bouyant ministry, it depends on how you showcase or move your ministry forward, that it becomes the cynosure of all eyes and people will notice that, and that’s what we intent to do here.

“When there’s a will, there’s a way. A lot of people will complain there’s no money, if you have ideas, there are things you can do with little or no money. It’s unfortunate that many people lay emphasis on money but by the time we start work you will see some things can be achieved with little or no momey and that’s what we stand for.

“We can add value to the state and priceless tangible things. All is not about money and there are also economic tourism, economic culture and we are prepared to work on them.” He said.

Honourable Akinlosotu, therefore, sought the cooperation of the staff to smoothly implement the present adminstration’s agenda, acronymed REDEEMED, in order to actualise his dreams of leaving the ministry better than he met it.

On ground to welcome the new Commissioner were the staff and the management team of the ministry, which was led by the Permanent Secretary, Mrs Boladale Akinyanmi.

Honourable Akinlosotu was a former Chairman of Ondo East Local Government and a former Special Adviser to a former Governor on political matters in the state.
