Ahead of the 2023 General Election in the country, a Legal Practitioner, Barrister Morayo Lebi has officially joined Ondo South Senatorial race, by declaring his political intention to represent his people at the upper chamber of the National Assembly on the platform of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC.
Morayo Lebi promised quality representation at the upper chamber if elected at the APC primary and the general election.
The APC Bigwig made the promise during his official declaration of his Political Ambition while hosting Irele local government Executive Members of the APC held at the party’s Secretariat at Ode-Irele, Ondo State on Friday.
Lebi, the APC Ondo South Senatorial Candidate in the 2015 general election, noted that he remains one of the few pioneers who brought and solidified the party in the senatorial district.
He said he had joined other pioneer leaders of the APC to invest in the growth of the party without being considered for political positions, hence the need for all stakeholders to give him chance to fly the flag of the party in 2023 polls, expressing confidence that electorate in the southern part of Ondo State would rally round his ambition.
Morayo Lebi enumerated his Seven Points Agenda for his people if voted, to include youth and women empowerment through cottage industries, engaging Federal Government through lobbying in linking areas such as Lagos, Ogun, Ondo and Edo States, drawing Federal Government attention to projects that would be beneficial to his constituents among others.
Barrister Morayo Lebi maintained that if elected, he would immediately set machineries in motion to ensure restoration of power in Ondo South zone, including urgent consultations and consolidations with stakeholders in the power sector including the Benin Electricity Distribution Company (BEDC) to solve decade of total blackout in the southern Senatorial district of the State.
The APC Aspirant commended the giant strides of the APC government in the state under the leadership of Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, urged the people of the state sustain their love and support for the party.
He also commended all the party leaders and faithfuls who had been standing behind him in the thick and thin, stressing that all would be remembered for good.
While answering questions on the new Electoral Act signed by President Muhammadu Buhari, the APC Chieftain, who lauded the step, said it is in fulfilment of the current administration’s campaign promise as a progressives party to proffer solutions to electoral matters that needed urgent amendment.
Speaking on behalf of his party Executive and leaders, the Irele Local Government APC Chairman, Chief Zachariah Akindele Omoge, promised to work for the success of Barrister Morayo Lebi as one of their eminent sons, noting that he remains a strong and reliable Aspirant who deserves to be supported by all party stakeholders in the zone.
