…..Political players in Okitipupa & Irele LGs make a u-turn to back Olusegun Ayerin’s House of Reps ambition, describe him as a reliable & dependable leader to work with.

”We were supporting other aspirants before because Pastor Olusegun Ayerin did not show interest but now that he has shown interest, we will pacify other aspirants to step down for him. However, if they insist, we will render them useless with our votes at the primaries”.

Who-is-who in Okitipupa/Irele Federal Constituency have made up their minds to back Pastor Olusegun Ayerin’s House of Representatives ambition, having made his interest known to contest the 2023 House of Representatives to represent Okitipupa/Irele Federal Constituency.

It was gathered by Coastal Renaissance news that the official declaration of Pastor Olusegun Ayerin to run for the House of Representatives, have made all the political players in both local governments to abandone their initial candidate and throw support for Pastor Olusegun Ayerin.

It was gathered that this unanimously decision was made by political players because of Pastor Ayerin’s tremendous investment in people especially when he was the Executive Chairman of Okitipupa Local Government and Commissioner for Agric in Ondo State.

It was also gathered that Pastor Ayerin has affected the lives of the major stakeholders positively while in position of power, reason why they decided to follow him without any reservation.

“Pastor Olusegun Ayerin is a household name in both Okitipupa and Irele Local Governments. He does not need any introduction of who he is. His good deeds and antecedents make his name more acceptable and recurring in political, social, and economic conversations than any other politicians in the area today”.

They said, “the era of Baboons dey work, monkeys dey chop is gone. This time around, we need a grassroot politician who can take care of party members, a tested and trusted leader like you (Olusegun Ayerin) to lead us again. We were supporting other aspirants before because he did not show interest but now that he has shown interest, we will pacify other aspirants to step down for him. However, if they insist, we will render them useless with our votes at the primaries”.

No doubt, the leadership style of Olusegun Ayerin is well accepted by all and sundry, especially, Okitipupa and Irele Local Governments because of his keen interest to develop the people and the land. Therefore, he has always been seen by the people as a man who has uncontrollable passion for the development of Okitipupa and Irele Local Governments.

When he was the Executive Chairman of Okitipupa Local Government, people often described him as man of the masses, hence, culminated to his leadership acceptance across Ikale land and beyond.

The reflection of Pastor Olusegun Charles Ayerin

Ayerin was born and bred in Ilutitun Osooro as a Nigerian modern day politician. He was Chairman, Okitipupa Local Government of Ondo State between July 2003 and June 2009. He is a graduate of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, as well as University of Lagos, Akoka Lagos and the Redeemed Christian Church of God Bible College.

Before he contested for the position of Okitipupa Local Government, he was the General Manager (Administration), Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA).

Ayerin has a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science/Economics and a Master degree in Management (General Management) from the University of Lagos, known as the University of first choice and nations pride. He is a fellow of two professional bodies – the Computer Society of Nigeria and Nigeria Institute of Management.

Ayerin worked as a Programmer during His NYSC at the P & T Headquarters, Lagos from July 1977 to August 1978. After his mandatory Youth service, he moved to the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) as System Analyst between September 1978 to February 1979. He later proceeded to Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria as Assistant General Manager between March 1979 to March 2000.

Ayerin was a General Manager (Administration) of the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority between April 2001 to June 2002 and voluntarily retired to venture into Nigeria politics.

Ayerin began his political career in 2003 when he was elected as Chairman, Okitipupa Local Government Area of Ondo State. He was a national delegate to the National Conventions of 2004, 2006, 2008, and 2011. He was appointed the Executive Chairman of Ondo State Electricity Board by the then Governor of Ondo State, Olusegun Mimiko between November 2013 to August 2015. After the general election, He later appointed as Commissioner for Agriculture; a position He held between December 2015 to November 2016.

Ayerin was in 2005 awarded “Best Performed Local Government Chairman” in Ondo State Senatorial District, Ondo state, also in SouthWest Zone and in Ondo State and in Nigeria at large by the Federal House of Representative committee on State and Local Government.

Ayerin is married to Mrs. Abiodun Ayerin. The union is blessed with four Children.
