Customer petitions BEDC over stolen ‘Prepaid Meter’ in Ondo State

A customer of the Benin Electric Distribution company (BEDC), from Akure, the Ondo State Capital, Mrs Iyabo Jenyo, has written a petition to the management of the company to seek retrieval of his stolen pre-paid meter and prosecution of offending official(s).

In the petition, the customer lamented that all efforts made to retrieve the meter has been frustrated by BEDC officials, thereby pointing accusing finger at them.

According to him, the details of the meter are;

“Date of collected the metre  was on 20th March year  2015 at about 09:58 hours. Consumer nos-04234082479. Account -AGR 60232441.
STAND : CAPMl / RCL/01/ 09/01/ AGAGU//479″

He sought urgent action from the BEDC management towards retrieving and returning his stolen meter to him in Akure.

Below is the full text of the letter;

SIR,
LETTER OF COMPLAINT IN RESPECT OF MY STOLEN METRE /ACCOUNT NUMBER.40/55/84/0944_01.

With due respect, I am written this letter to inform you that, I am a customer of your company Benin city Electric Distribution company, also my consumer No/ID is 40/55/84/0944-01. Which I acquired since 2016.


It will be pertinent to know that while my house was undergoing renovation (in Ondo State) the prepaid meter was stolen, as I strongly suspecting the staff of your company to be behind the theft as same meter has be resold to another person who is making use of it presently.


Sir, it will interest you to know that I received alert of recharge card at every point when the meter is recharge through my phone No. (Attached as the proof of same for ease of reference).


Sir, most annoyed, an account was opened in my name without my consent as your staff turn my house to center of extortion at every point in time.


I therefore urge your company to come to my aid for possible recovery of my meter and prosecution of the offender.


I await your cooperation and quick response in this regard, please.
