The candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for Ondo West Constituency 1 in the March 11 House of Assembly election in Ondo State, Otunba Moyinolorun Ogunwumiju (OMO) has donated an ultra-modern borehole to the market men and women at Moferere market, Ondo city.

Otunba Ogunwumiju embarked on the project as a way of ameliorating the untold hardship the market men and women are facing over decades due to the lack of access to potable water in the market, which has led to difficulty for both the market men and women and people coming to buy things in the market.

“My attention was drawn to the plight of our market men and women over the absence of potable water in the market area for decades, which has affected the smooth running of their market activities as they groaned due to the unavailability of this necessity for them in the market”.

” I see the urgent need to heed the call of our market men and women and to mitigate their hardship in providing this ultra-modern borehole to end this long agony and improve the activities of the market, and to make life more affluent for our people. This will also improve the I cleanliness of the market environment as against the present situation as a result of the unavailability of water”

“This borehole project will cover over 40 shops, and surroundings and the channelization will serve more shops outside the 40 captured for the project. I sympathise with our market men and women over long-suffering but I am assuring you that I will continue to place primacy on the things that will make life more easier and comfortable for you in your day-to-day business activities in the marketplace”

During the speech, the Executive Chairman of the Ondo West Local Government, Hon. Ebenezer Ayodeji Akinsulire, lauded Otunba Moyinolorun Ogunwumiju (OMO), for coming to the aid of the market men and women at this crucial time to provide this project of magnitude for them, as it will surely end age-long untold hardship.

In his words, “I must say unequivocally that you are very lucky, that among the candidates vying for the house of assembly seat in the Ondo west constituency 1, only OMO that took it upon himself to attend to your plight and the only way you can pay him back is by coming out on the Election Day to give him your massive your votes so that he can give you more projects that will make a life for you and your businesses more comfortable. If OMO has been doing this great work before becoming a lawmaker, I can assure you that he will do far better if he becomes your elected representative in the Ondo State House of Assembly, on March 11” – he stated

The Iyaloja who could not hold back her joy joined hundreds of market men and women who trooped out for the event to shower encomiums on Otunba Moyinolorun Ogunwumiju (OMO), for coming to their aid in making the provision of the potable water a reality.

In her words, “We have been suffering from this inaccessibility to potable water for a very long time, our people in this market area will have to trek long distances every day before they can get water to use and to do other necessary things, but that has ended now and we will forever be grateful to you. I want to tell you that for you to have identified with us at this critical time of ours, we will reciprocate this kind gesture on Election Day, to ensure your victory against your opponents ‘ – Iyaloja said.

The event was attended by an array of APC bigwigs in Ondo West Local Government, led by the Executive Chairman of the local government, Hon. Ebenezer Ayodeji Akinsulire and a host of other dignitaries were present at the event.
