A Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC in Ondo State, Otunba Dele Ologbese has commended the braveness of the 12 House of Assembly Members that disassociated themselves from the unpopular plot to impeach the Deputy Governor of the state.
He said the legislative arm of government is not a stooge or appendage of executive, adding they should enjoy their independence of checking the excesses of executive chamber towards promoting good democratic governance in the State.
Recalled, that 12 out of 26 members of the Ondo State House of Assembly have boldly informed the masses on whose back they assumed political office they’re not part of plots to impeach the Deputy Governor, Hon. Lucky Aiyedatiwa on trump up charges.
Ologbese in a statement signed and made available to newsmen in Akure, said the 12 House of Assembly members have not only displayed uncommon respect for constitutionality but also strong passion for their constituents as well as smooth runnings of State’s affairs.
The Coordinator of Advocate for Good Governance added that the names of the 12 Honourable members will be written in gold, saying unborn generations will hear and read about them on how they put Ondo State first and above personal aggrandizement or interests.
According to him, Ondo State is bigger than any individual and group with the aim of taking advantage of ill health of the Governor for their parochial interest, without considering the common interests of the masses.
“Enough is enough!. We call on leaders of thoughts, religious leaders, traditional rulers and other public spirited individuals within and outside the State to prevail on political adventurers to give room for permanent peace and genuine reconciliations in line with directives of national body of our great party”
“Our appeal to those fanning embers of discords, hatred, vendetta in our party or trying to set Ondo State on fire at this moment is that they sheath their swords and stop flexing muscles with national body of the party.
“Two wrongs, they say cannot make a right, the gentle and loyal Deputy Governor had apologized to his boss without considering if he’s innocent of all trump up allegations against him or not and it’s expected that all feuding parties should reason together and allow peace to reign in Ondo State” he said.
