Olamide Falana bags BAB Leadership Award, appreciates Akeredolu

The Special Adviser to the Ondo State Governor on Gender, Hon (Mrs) Olamide Falana has been honoured with Beauty And Bride (BAB) Leadership Award.

Falana was honoured at Beauty and Bride (BAB Nigeria) Gala & Award night, held on Sunday evening in Akure, the State Capital.

In her remarks, the Convener, Mrs Francisca Oyinye Ogunlade appreciated God Almighty for the opportunity given to Hon Olamide Falana to serve the state especially protecting the interest of women and girl child over the years, describing the Award as a well-deserved honour.

While congratulating the Award Recipient, Ogunlade noted that the award is a way of celebrating excellence and greatness of those who have been distinguishing themselves in the society, urging them including Olamide Falana not to relent in her good works but keep the flag flying.

Responding after receiving the award, Mrs Olamide Falana appreciated the convener of BAB Nigeria for finding her worthy to be honoured.

The SA Gender said, “I’m really happy to receive this honour, though it came as a surprise to me; I’m happy to be identified among so many people.”

She added that the award is an encouragement for her to do more in the area of women leadership, “to do more towards ensuring that dividends of democracy are brought as closer as possible to women and girls across the State and the Nation, to do more in ensuring a push for gender equity across all sectors.”

Dedicating her award to God Almighty and to Governor Akeredolu, Olamide Falana appreciated the Governor for identifying her for the position of Special Adviser, which has given her a platform to exhibit her leadership qualities.

“I appreciate Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, CON, for being a foremost leader who leads from the heart, with truth and I hope to pass the tenets I learnt from him to other young people who are looking up to me as a role model.”

Mrs Olamide Falana was honored alongside other distinguished individuals at the colourful ceremony attended by the Minister of State for Youth affairs, Hon Ayo Olawande; the Special Adviser to the state Governor on Health, Prof Dayo Faduyile; a Former State Lawmaker, Hon Tomide Akinribido and the APC Bigwig Barrister Olumuyiwa Adu amongst others dignitaries.
