Elected Voice: Lawmaker, Barr. Komolafe cautions against Misrepresentation of Ifedore LGA

Ifedore’s Elected Voice: Barr. Komolafe Counters Misrepresentation of LGA

PRESS STATEMENT

Date: May 10, 2024

Subject: Clarification on Representation of Ifedore Local Government

I, Barr. Tope Komolafe, the duly elected representative of Ifedore Local Government in the Ondo State House of Assembly, wish to address the recent press statement issued by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor of Ondo State, which inaccurately portrayed the attendees of a meeting with His Excellency, Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, as representatives of the Ifedore Local Government.

It has come to my attention that the delegation led by Rtd Major General Joshua Adebayo Omosebi, including traditional rulers and business mogul, Chief Ade Ojo, was presented as speaking on behalf of the Ifedore Local Government stakeholders.

I must clarify that this is not the case. The individuals mentioned are respected members of our community with their own perspectives, but they do not speak for the Ifedore Local Government or its official position.

The views expressed during their meeting with the Governor reflect personal opinions and should not be misconstrued as the collective voice of the Ifedore stakeholders.

As the elected representative, it is my responsibility to convey the sentiments and decisions of our local government, which are formulated through proper channels and inclusive dialogue among all stakeholders.

I urge the public and media to disregard any claims of representation by the aforementioned individuals in official matters pertaining to the Ifedore Local Government.

Furthermore, I advise all stakeholders within Ifedore to remain calm and not to overheat the polity with unauthorized representations.

Our commitment to inclusive governance and development remains steadfast, and we will continue to work collaboratively with the state government to address the needs of our communities, particularly in areas such as road infrastructure and healthcare, as highlighted by our esteemed elders.

We appreciate the efforts of the state government and look forward to more fruitful engagements that accurately reflect the will and interests of the Ifedore Local Government.

Sincerely,

Barr. Tope Komolafe,

Member, Ondo State House of Assembly,

Representative, Ifedore Local Government.
