Osi Monarch, Oba Olajide decorated as Southwest PCRC Royal Patron for building Police station, donating security vehicles

The Iresi of Osi in Akure north, Oba David Olajide Okunato has received an honour as the Royal Patrons of the southwest zone by the Police Community Relations Committee, PCRC.

The award ceremony took place during the 40th anniversary commemoration of the PCRC National body at the police officer’s mess on Thursday, May 16th, in Akure.

The monarchy, who built a divisional police station and donated 2 vehicles to the police including the construction of 35 shops to support the police income, and also assisted the police logistics in Zone 17 and was decorated by PCRC Deputy National Secretary, Ambassador Mrs. Mary Joseph.

Addressing the gathering, the National Chairman of PCRC, Alhaji Mojagi Olaniyan described the awards as a gesture of gratitude, emphasizing the developmental roles the kings have played for the association.

The Chairman, in his remarkable address, expressed pleasure and surprise toward the form of the association, claiming the Ondo state chapter has been ranked among other chapters in the country for its unique reformation.

Olaniyan, who praised the Chairman of the PCRC in Ondo state, Ambassador Gabriel Ariyo, for demonstrating tenacity in its members by implementing policies of greatness within the association, advised accommodating members from different races by avoiding discrimination.

According to him “It is good to recognize and promote good people for their selfless service and unwavering support. I am convinced about the activities of these two monarchies. These awards will not only promote their images but also encourage people to contribute to the uplifts of the society in the little capacity they have.”

“I am quite amazed that members of PCRC in ondo state can be this active and productive. Their commitment and resilience have stood solidly among others. They have displayed uncommon passion and commitment to the association in all arenas.”

“I can tell you that the chairman has illustrated a very good energy and I am sure that there is no limit to what he can do for members in Ondo state. I will also advise Ambassador Ariyo to accommodate members and avoid discrimination to increase the number of members of the association as the association is not limited to some set of people,” The chairman noted.

The Oba Ogboni and patron of the PCRC in Ondo state, Oba Adebanji Ogundeire also joined to congratulate the monarchies and other people who came to celebrate with the kings.

Earlier, the Chairman of the PCRC Ondo state chapter, Ambassador Gabriel Ariyo lauded the altruism of the kings and the National Chairman for their devotion to the welfare of the Ondo state chapter.

During the presentation of the award, Ariyo noted that the award recognized those who have contributed to the fruitful enhancement of the association, signifying their relevance and enthusiasm in promoting the status of the association.

He said “On behalf of the PCRC, Ondo State chapter, I sincerely appreciate the National Chairman for his every time availability to the progress of the association. Kindly accept the little gift we have for you to show our little gratefulness.”

Oba Okunato, upon receiving the award in recognition of his outstanding contributions, progress and support for the police community, acknowledged the PCRC National chairman and the members of the Ondo state chapter for distinguishing him.

The Osi monarch also urged Alhaji Olaniyan to prioritize their responsibilities by assisting the Nigeria Police Force to achieve their aims and objectives.

The Olu of Kajola Isinkan, Olumuyiwa Aguda, who received the award on behalf of the Iralepo of Isinkan, in his cheerful response, applauded all the PCRC members for the recognition and also assured them of the royal’s continuing support and partnership to improve their standard of operations.

The vice chairman of the PCRC Ondo Central, Asiwaji Wole Ademoyegun who gave the closing remarks appreciated the presence of everybody including the royalties, PCRC national executives and the well-wishers.
