ONE YEAR IN OFFICE: HON. PRINCESS TOSIN OGUNLOWO AJIROTUTU’S REDEFINITION OF REPRESENTATION IN IDANRE.
After the good people of Idanre State Constituency freely gave their mandate to their beautiful and well-behaved Princess to represent them at the Ondo State House of Assembly, a group of disgruntled politicians conspired and instituted legal actions to distract her. To the glory of God, she came out victorious. Since then, Hon. Princess Tosin Ogunlowo Ajirotutu has dedicated her energy and resources to the service of her people.
DISTRIBUTION OF FOOD STUFF FOR AGED, WIDOWS AND LESS PRIVILEGED
To celebrate her first year anniversary in office, Hon. Princess Tosin Ogunlowo Ajirotutu distributed rice, semo, garri, indomie, tomato, pepper, groundnut oil etc to aged people and less privileged members of her Constituency to cushion the effect of skyrocket food prices. Beneficiaries were drawn across all the Wards in the Constituency and were given cash gift to take care of the transportation. Hon. Princess Tosin has always prioritizes feeding her people because without inner strength, it will be difficult for people to be productive. She has promised to continue to support her people in this very difficult economy until things get better.
EMPLOYMENT:
Hon. Tosin Ogunlowo Ajirotutu, Deputy Majority Leader of Ondo State House of Assembly and Chairman, House Committee on Natural Resources, has facilitated employment opportunities for youths of her Constituency in the Ondo State Civil Service. SKILL ACQUISITION AND EMPOWERMENT:
Hon. Princess Tosin Ogunlowo Ajirotutu has trained over One Hundred (100) members of her Constituency in beauty (hair dressing & barbing, fashion), Aluminum making, etc. The training was delivered by a World class institute to beneficiaries free of charge (all expenses paid for by Hon. Princess Tosin). This is to build capacity and reduce cash flight thereby boosting the retail economy of Idanre. Aside from the training (skill acquisition), plans are in place to empower the beneficiaries with modern equipment. The choice of beauty industry is very strategic because it is the new oil in our economy.
EDUCATION:
One of Hon. Princess Tosin Ogunlowo Ajirotutu’s campaign promises is to invest in the education of young members of her Constituency. This year, she kick-started her intervention by giving out over Two Hundred (200) Free UTME forms to young people seeking admission to tertiary institutions. This is unprecedented and there are plans to expand this programme by considering other necessary areas that require urgent intervention.
SUPPORT FOR FARMERS:
The current economic reality is that we must go back to the farm to feed ourselves. With the floating of naira, importation of food stuff is now very expensive and unsustainable. Hon. Princess Tosin Ogunlowo Ajirotutu is strategically exploring opportunities to support farmers in her Constituency for efficient productivity. In the last one year, she has distributed hybrid maize grains for farmers and the results are fantastic. The Deputy Majority Leader of the Ondo State House of Assembly is working with some research institutes to get improved hybrids of some farm inputs to boost revenue for farmers in her Constituency and increased food production for her people.
PROVISION AND INSTALLATION OF SOLAR STREET LIGHTS:
Another giant stride of Hon. Princess Tosin Ogunlowo Ajirotutu in the last one year is the provision and installation of solar street lights in some strategic locations with her personal resources. Representation has not been this good in Idanre State Constituency. Representation is about making some tough sacrifices for the people and this has always been Hon. Princess Tosin’s motivation.
INTEREST FREE LOAN ON THE WAY FOR 300 TRADERS/MARKET WOMEN:
The business environment is very harsh and there is a need to support our people in the MSMEs to ensure sustainability of the retail segment of our economy. To help reduce the cost of borrowing which has continued to mount huge pressure on our mothers in trade, Hon. Princess Tosin Ogunlowo Ajirotutu is finalising arrangements to provide INTEREST-FREE loans for our market women, artisans and entrepreneurs. The first phase of the scheme will kickstart with Three Hundred (300) beneficiaries. Repayment will be highly flexible and convenient as this is meant to reduce burden on our people. We cannot look away from the terrible manner our mothers, artisans and traders are being treated by some micro lending organizations. Yet, our people need continuous injections into their businesses to survive. Hon. Princess Tosin Ogunlowo Ajirotutu is passionate about keeping our mothers in business.
