On Thursday, 15th of October, 2026, Ondo State received another visitor, the Air marshal of the Nigeria Air force (NAF) visited the State after the sudden incident that claimed lives of the Air personal in igbokoda, Ilaje local government.
The latest visit followed a petition of Oba Odidiomo Afolabi, the Olu of Igbokoda, on water and air pollution in the area after the incident.
The Air Officer Commanding (AOC), Tactical Air Command, Air Vice Marshal MC Ekwueme, visited Igbokoda, Ondo State, on the directive of the Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, to engage community leaders and residents following concerns over the potential impact of the ongoing recovery operations on their water and environs.
During the engagement, the AOC acknowledged the concerns raised, assured the community, in spirit of total commitment to community engagement and responsible action, the Nigerian Air Force’s (NAF) commitment to addressing the issues, and appreciated the people for their patience and cooperation during this difficult period.
The AOC also engaged personnel at the recovery site, where significant progress is being made despite the challenging terrain and difficult conditions.
He appreciated the Governor, His Excellency, Lucky Orimisan Ayedatiwa for his total commitment and full support directing the Special Assistant on Ecological Control & Technical affairs, immediately the incident happened and applaud hon. Ebijimi Elisha A. for is technical ideas, man power and full commitment over the ongoing efforts to recover the aircraft.
The collaboration with other team members and the expertise of the Special assistant to the Governor on Ecological Control, deploying heavy machines and constructing Extension badges is being productive and relating with the king and the community is seemless as a son of the soil.
