One shot dead as armed robbers raid filling station in Ondo

One person was reportedly feared dead as gunmen suspected to be armed robbers on Saturday attack a popular filling station in Akure, the Ondo state capital.

It was gathered that the gun men struck at around half past 7 o’clock in the evening at Damorotex petrol Station, located along Oda road, Akure.

An Eye witness account says, four gunmen, stormed the petrol station with two motorcycles.

According to the eyewitness, They shot sporadically into the air before entering the station’s office, and carted away undisclosed amount of money, killing one of the staff.

Another eyewitness however, told ROVING REPORTERS that no life was lost during the robbery incident.

The Police Public Relations Officer in Ondo state, Tee Leo Ikoro is yet to confirm the incident as his phone number was not reachable as of press time.
