Ex-Defence Minister applauds FG over Medaville Estate Project in Akure

A Former Minister of Justice & Attorney General of the Federation, Prince Adetokunbo Kayode, SAN, has expressed satisfaction with the execution of the ongoing Medaville Federal Housing Estate project in Akure, the Ondo state capital with high quality building materials.

Kayode who is also an ex-Minister of Defence and later in charge of  ministry of Tourism, Culture and National Orientation, under the Yaradua/Jonathan administrations, described the project as timely and it would go a long way in addressing shortage of affordable houses for the masses.

The former Defence Minister stated this on thursday 29th July, 2021 at the project site when he paid a working visit to the estate developer and Managing Director, Medaville Building & Construction Co. Ltd, Otunba Ademola Akin-Benson.

The Managing Director of Medaville had earlier conducted Prince Kayode round the estate where some housing units had been completed and others under construction.

The former Minister who is also the President, Abuja Chamber of Commerce of Industry (ACCI) and National Deputy President Ex-officio of the Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA), commended the federal ministry of Works and Housing for partnering Medaville Building & Construction Co. Ltd, to execute the estate project which had provided means of livelihood for some artisans working at the site, located opposite Ondo state Police Headquarters, Igbatoro road, Akure.

Kayode who hails from Ikaram-Akoko in Ondo State, appealed to the Federal Government to invest hugely and support estate developers like Medaville Building & Construction Co. Ltd to execute more housing estate projects in Ondo state in particular and the nation in general as a deliberate measure to tackle shortage of accommodation in urban areas in the country.

The former AGF pointed out that such investment if well implemented, it would even reduce high cost of house rent in most states.

The Managing Director, Medaville Building & Construction Co. Ltd, Otunba Ademola Akin-Benson, expressed appreciation to the former Minister for paying on the spot assessment visit to the Medaville/Federal Housing Estate, Akure where massive construction work is going.

Akin-Benson who commended President Muhammadu Buhari and the Minister of Works and Housing, Mr Fashola as well as the management of the Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria (FMBN) for their commitment to solving challenges in the sector through right investment.

The Seasoned Estate Developer expressed the readiness of Medaville Building & Construction Co. Ltd, to consistently sustain good relationship between it and other stakeholders by executing federal government’s housing projects awarded to it according to specification.
